Guangzhou China Jan. 20, 2011- According to a latest survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, the total output of chemical pesticide technical has reached a new record of 2.48 million tonnes from Jan. 2010 to Nov. 2010, up 20.6% over the same period last year. The total output of pesticide is over 2.5 million tonnes in 2010, up 10.5% compared with last year, and it is estimated that the pesticide output will continue to increase in 2011. As the snow disasters in 2009 broke the growth cycle of pests and the widespread use of pesticide reduced the outbreak of pests, the consumption of insecticides in domestic market decreases in 2010, down 30% compared with last year.

In 2010, the output of organophosphorus pesticide decreases again due to high pollution and environmental risk. Weak in the market from January to July, the operation rates of dipterex and triazophos are both low at 10%, due to the market downturn from Jan. 2010 to Jul. 2010. There is a 15,000-tonne vacancy in DDVP market as the relocation of Nantong Jiangshan and Heibei Xinfeng, two of the largest DDVP manufactures in China. The total demand of chlorpyrifos in domestic market is only 18,000 tonnes per year while the capacity is more than 70,000 t/a. As a result of serious surplus production in chlorpyrifos, the domestic manufactures are hard to gain profits and even at the risk of a loss.

For the prohibition of methamidophos and other 4 high toxicity pesticides, the demand of substitutes for high toxicity pesticides has increased, such as chlorpyrifos, abamectin, acetamiprid, prodain and pymetrozine.

In 2010, the most popular products in insecticide market are: DDVP, chlorpyrifos, dipterex, dimethoate, abamectin, phoxim, Buprofezin, dimethyl and cyhalothrin. The using and increasing demand of insecticide is in rice, corn, wheat, cotton, vegetables, fruits, etc. One of the outstanding features in insecticide market is that the market share of compound insecticide will increase in 2011.
